Antioch’s History and Why We’re Proud to Serve the Antioch Community
On September 16 1850, settlers camped under oak trees at the mouth of the San Joaquin River and began building a village that they named Antioch at a Fourth of July picnic in 1851. Early industries included brick kilns, coal mining, copper smelting, potteries, a distillery and a paper mill built in 1889.
The town incorporated in February 1872, bringing formal governance and public services. Antioch’s riverside location made it a shipping point for agricultural products and minerals, and land disputes between settlers and Mexican grantees persisted for decades.
Over time Antioch grew from a farming and mining community to a suburban city. Today it has roughly 116,000 residents with a median household income of $94,256 and a median home value of $607,400.
With its riverfront parks, historic downtown and affordable housing, Antioch offers a blend of heritage and opportunity. Fast Plumbing & Drain is proud to serve this growing city.
